NEW DELHI: A buoyant industry provides ample opportunities for professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit take the plunge and the OOH industry is no different than any other. On the back of robust growth in 2010 and a positive forecast for 2011, Gourav Tandon, former CEO of Mediascope Publicitas OOH, has launched his own out-of-home venture, Apex Integrated Marketing (AIM).
On March 14, 2011, network2media had published the news of Tandon quitting Mediascope Publicitas OOH. Apex Integrated Marketing will be headquartered in Delhi with a pan-India presence and will be fully functional.
Commenting on the new venture, Gaurav Tandon said, Apex Integrated Marketing (AIM) will be a full service OOH agency fully committed to help clients win by providing better and creatively driven solutions in a simpler, faster fashion and enhance the value of branded assets through innovation and through constructive disruption of conventional thinking."
"We have more than desired backing both in terms of funding, as well as other resources from allied partners who will partner us in our growth and travel the path that we have charted out for ourselves going forward in the coming years", added Tandon.
Commenting on building a competent team and quality of manpower, Tandon said, ours will be a consortium of best talents with a pan India presence . Every industry and particularly our industry is governed by relationships, being a part of this wonderful business for more than a decade has its own advantages, specially in matters of one to one rapport, belief in a talented individual and vice versa is what eventually gets the desired results in terms of getting the right people on board. From the very outset, we will be having six fully functional offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.
On choosing to take the entrepreneurial plunge after so many years, Tandon stated, "Every human being has an entrepreneurial bent of mind, provided the right opportunities beckon at the right time. At the cost of sounding immodest, the years I have given to this industry as a whole has given me the resilience to put at test my entrepreneurial skills by bringing them on to the table. The out of the box offerings from AIM will be in abundance for the market to see."
"We aspire to create iconic work that resonates with client strategy, consumer insights and a deep insight into consumer behaviour. We will have an approach which will be in close coordination with POS. I have been a sales person for a large part of my career and will take a cue from that experience and merge it with my OOH experience to offer comprehensive solutions. Also, having worked for clients and with media partners, we wanted to have an organisation that spells transparency in all its dealings and ensures that it is a win-win for all parties in question. The client gets value for money, we get to show value for the client and finally the media owner who becomes a delighted to partner with us because the best business practices in terms of documentation, payments etc. are maintained", added Tandon.
On the immediate and medium term goals for the new entity, Tandon commented, "Our first goal is to bring like minded people on board and make them a part of this venture. Second goal is to have an integrated marketing approach to address the clients' needs in absolute totality. The idea is not to be a part of the bandwagon, but to create attainable and realistic goals and move ahead by contributing substantially to this trade of ours.
