NEW DELHI: Bright Outdoor has won the Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking (BEST) tender for advertising rights on single and double-decker buses. The OOH firm has won the tender for the period 2010-13.
According to industry sources, Bright Outdoor has won the tender with a total bid amount of Rs 123.10 crore. This includes the financial bid and the auction. Confirming the development, Sudesh Paul, manager, business development, Bright Outdoor, said, "Yes it is true that we have won the tender."
Commenting on the win, Mr Yogesh Lakhani, CMD, Bright Outdoor, told network2media, “We are one of the leaders in this industry, having invested in over 1,460 hoardings. As for the BEST opportunity, we have been trying for this for the past nine years. Our success comes from the goodwill that we enjoy in the market. We will transfer the benefits earned from this project to our clients who number more than 600.”
Apart from Bright Outdoor, Pioneer Publicity, Jagran Engage, Gold Mine Advertising, Sambhav Media and Rajdeep Buildcon had participated in the bid. Industry sources said that second highest bidder was Gold Mine Advertising which had submitted a bid of Rs 123 crore, followed by Rajdeep Buildcon at Rs 94 crore, Jagran Engage at Rs 87 crore and Pioneer Publicity at Rs 67 crore.
The BEST tender was divided into two parts: financial and technical. In the sealed financial tender round, Bright Outdoor had submitted a bid of Rs 65 crore, followed by Gold Mine Advertising at Rs 64 crore, Jagran Engage at Rs 49.5 crore, Pioneer Publicity at Rs 46 crores and Rajdeep Buildcon at Rs 45.5 crore. The result of the financial tender was followed by auction.
