SOUTH AFRICA: Powerade is dominating 30 Action Sports arenas around the country after signing a 12 month exclusive sports drinks branding rights campaign with SP Media.
 "Where better for the leading brand in the sports drinks category to command a presence than at these Action Sports arenas frequented daily by its core target market," says Charl Timms, CEO at SP Media.
 "Powerade supplies the leading sports teams in South Africa and these action sports arenas are a natural extension of their marketing strategy. Here you have active sport participants and sports fans attending the events and working up a thirst in the process. It is the ideal platform for Powerade as it remains top of mind amongst thirsty sports enthusiasts."
The Action Sports arenas are situated in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, George, Rustenburg, Carltonville, Paarl, Somerset West, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, Oudtshoorn, Vanderbijlpark and Polokwane.
Adds Charl, "There are 30 billboards promoting the Powerade brand at these Action Sports arena's equating to 1200 square meters of powerful artwork and visual communication which dominates this media space."
