DDB MudraMax tops metals tally; Noomi Mehta wins ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’

e4m & n2m OOH Conference and Awards for Outdoor Advertising & Digital Signage 2012NEW DELHI: The 2nd exchange4media & network2media OOH Conference and Awards concluded on a high note with DDB MudraMax bagging the ‘OOH Agency of the Year’ award amid stiff competition from other leading OOH agencies. Volkswagen was declared the ‘OOH Advertiser of the Year’ for the launch of a series of innovative OOH campaigns through the year. The auto brand also walked away with the 'OOH Advertiser of the Year', while the Volkswagen 'Think Blue' campaign won the ‘Outdoor Campaign of the Year’ award.

Pramod Bhandula receiving the award The jury led by Ashish Bhasin, chairman and CEO, South East Asia, Aegis Media, adjudged Pramod Bhandula, managing director, JCDecaux India, ‘OOH Person of the Year’. JCDecaux India bagged the ‘Media Owner of the Year’ award.

Noomi Mehta accepts the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' Noomi Mehta, chairman and MD, Selvel One, and chairman, Indian Outdoor Advertising Association (IOAA), received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. In his acceptance speech, Mehta said the IOAA was equally deserving of the award given the many bold steps that the association has taken to raise the accountability levels in the industry.

The jury also made a special mention of the contribution of Lalit Soi who had pioneered neon lighting in the India’s outdoor industry.

The winners celebrate In the other award categories, DDB MudraMax won two silvers in the ‘Innovative Use of Existing Medium’ category-one for a Birla Sun Life campaign ‘Broken Lift’ and the second for a Birla Sun Life campaign titled ‘Grand Theft’. MOMS won a bronze for a TATA Docomo campaign titled ‘New Year Text’.

Enroute won a silver for its client Flo under the ‘Innovative Creation of a New Medium’ category, while MOMS also won a silver for the TATA Docomo campaign ‘Docomo Ganpati Visarjan Boat’. The bronze went to Bates for the Vodafone 3G LED bus campaign.

Under the ‘Best/Innovative Brand Fit Within Existing Media’ category, DDB MudraMax won a silver for the Volkswagen ‘Ugliest Billboard’ campaign, while Posterscope bagged a silver for ‘Party on Billboard’ campaign, and Brandscope/OMD got a silver for a Bosch Conveyor Belt campaign. The bronze went to Posterscope for a 'MTV Unplugged' campaign.

In the ‘Most Innovative Use of Digital OOH Media' category, Posterscope won a gold for a Reebok campaign titled ‘Easytone DOOH Activity’. The bronze went to MRM Worldwide for a Lufthansa’ campaign titled ‘A380 Park And Fly’.

In the ‘Most Innovative Use of Indoor Media in a Point-Of-Purchase Environment’ category, DDB MudraMax won a silver for World Gold Council’s ‘In The Lion's Den’ campaign whereas Posterscope won a silver for Mattel Toys work titled ‘Thrill and compete @ retail with hot wheels car’.

Bates bagged a silver for the Vodafone 3G LED bus campaign under the ‘Most Innovative Use of Moving Media’ category. Atin Promotions and Lintas Initiative Media also won a silver each. The bronze went to Milestone Brandcom for a TATA Photon campaign titled ‘TATA - Moving Restaurant’.

In the ‘Best Outdoor Plan – Strategy’ category, DDB MudraMax won a silver for the Titan Belts and Wallets campaign while Milestone Brandcom won a silver for McDonald’s McSpicy campaign.

MOMS won a silver under the ‘Creative Award – Telecom’ category for the TATA Docomo ‘New Year Text’ campaign.

In the ‘Creative Award - Banking, Financial Services and Insurance’ category, JWT won a silver for a Birla Sun Life work titled ‘Never-ending Passion Tablemat’.

DDB MudraMax won a silver for HBO’s ‘Hangover Double Vision’ campaign under the ‘Creative Award - Entertainment and Media’ category. The bronze went to Milestone Brandcom for Colors ‘Bigg Boss 5’ campaign.

In the ‘Creative Award – Automobiles’ category, DDB MudraMax won a gold and a silver for Volkswagen campaigns. The bronze went to Times Innovative Media.

Encyclomedia won a silver in the ‘Creative Award – FMCG’ category for the work done for Coca Cola’s ‘Thums Up Fight The Fear’ campaign.

In the ‘Creative Awards - Public Service/Corporate Social Responsibility’ category, DDB MudraMax won a gold for the Volkswagen 'Think Blue – Ugliest Billboard' campaign, while Milestone Brandcom won a silver for McDonald’s ‘Traffic Safety Week’ and added a bronze to its tally for the work titled ‘KKK 4 – Innovations’ done for Colors.

In the ‘Creative Award – Others’ category, DDB MudraMax won two silvers – one for World Gold Council, for the work titled ‘WSG – Scrap TV Screensaver Conveyer Belt’, and the other for Titan Belts and Wallets campaign. The bronze went to Milestone Brandcom for the work titled ‘Tanishq Store Launch – Andheri’.

The awards night drew to a close with Nawal Ahuja, director, exchange4media, proposing the vote of thanks.
