RAJKOT: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited tenders under the 'two-bid' system for awarding advertisement rights inside the terminal building (420 sq. ft) through contract 1 and outside the terminal building (610 sq. ft) through contract 2 at Rajkot airport. The contracts will be awarded for a period of three years. Separate tenders for each contract will have to be submitted.
The minimum reserve license fee for these contracts is Rs. 1.68 lakh per month and Rs. 1.37 lakh per month respectively.
The respective earnest money deposits (EMD) required for these contracts is Rs. 1,00,800 and Rs. 1 lakh. The license fee will be subject to 10 percent annually compounded escalation from the second year onward.
To be eligible for the contract, applicants should have experience in the advertisement display business at transportation centres like airports, sea ports, railways, metro rail stations for at least three years.
Applicants should have a minimum annual gross turnover equivalent to six months amount of the minimum reserve license fee in any of the last five financial years, out of which, at least 50 percent should be from the advertisement display business.
Applicants will have to submit the EMD in the form of a pay order or demand draft drawn in favour of the AAI, payable at Rajkot along with the bids.
Tender documents indicating full details of the license can be availed on payment of Rs. 5,000 from the office of the nodal officer (commercial), O/o airport director, Airports Authority of India, Rajkot airport, Rajkot - 360 006 on any working day between 10am and 5pm up to May 17, 2012.
If the tender documents are downloaded from the website, the tender document cost will have to be deposited through a demand draft drawn in favour of the AAI, payable at Rajkot before the tender opening date.
Duly completed tenders should reach the office of the nodal officer (commercial), o/o airport director, Airports Authority of India, Rajkot airport, Rajkot - 360 006 latest by 3pm on May 18, 2012.
Technical bids will be opened on the same day at 3.30pm.
It is pertinent to note, that this is the second time that AAI has floated this tender. The earlier tender was reported in network2media in February 2012. This time, additional benefits have been provided to bidders in terms of reduced EMD and MRLF amounts.
