Uninor runs for a cause in Kolkata

KOLKATA: Uninor, one of the notable mobile services provider of India organised a 5 - km marathon in the city titled as ‘Uninor Run For a Cause’, an expression of solidarity from the mobile service major to Shimul - a registered NGO that deals with 'Siksha', 'Swastho', 'Sangeet' and 'Swanirvarata' of women. The morning defeated lethargy, sweat, and morning mist, when it witnessed thousands of the city’s responsible citizens coming forward to extend their support to the cause. The marathon was jointly flagged off by Yogesh Mallik, COO, Uninor and Ritesh Kumar Singh, business head – West Bengal circle from the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium and ended at the same place, after completing a stretch of 5 kms. The run witnessed top executives from the company together with its employees taking an active part in the programme alongside 100 girls from ‘Shimul Music Circle’, all with a common agenda ‘Empowerment of Women’.

Renowned personalities from the various walks of life like Tapas Pal, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, Ushasie Chakraborty, Papia Adhikari, Pallavi Chatterjee and Locket Chatterjee were seen running lending their support and raise funds for Shimul.

By organising such social initiatives, we reiterate our commitment towards the people of West Bengal.
